Loma Vista Community Church Men’s Ministry
“Men Seeking After God’s Heart.”
Men helping men take the next step toward Jesus Christ and become the Spiritual Leaders in their families, church, and community through discipleship.
1 Timothy 6:11
But you, man of God, … pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
To help men strive to be Godly Men, to seek after God’s own heart.
To provide opportunities to develop relationships with other men who have similar life experiences, struggles and successes through positive and encouraging Men’s Activities.
To encourage and provide opportunities for discipleship and deeper growth through bible study and Men’s Events.
To help Men become the Spiritual Leaders of their families; to grow and serve in the church, and to become the leaders God wants them to be.
To equip men to fight for their wives, families and friends; to pick up their swords, shields and to wear the armor God gives us.
Therefore put on the full armor of God,… take up the shield of faith, … Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Are you ready to pick up your sword?
The Men’s Ministry at Loma Vista Community Church provides opportunities for men to meet together, being stronger in number than if we were to take on this challenge alone. We encourage men to get involved in a small group study, in a safe environment where men can be honest about their questions and struggles as they grow in their knowledge of scripture, and how to apply God’s principals to their lives.
Men, Spiritual Leaders
When we look back at our lives, will we be able to say that it counted for something? Will who we were, or what we did, matter? We have an opportunity to be involved in something much bigger than ourselves, something that is meaningful, and it begins with us!
What is Spiritual Leadership?
Spiritual Leadership is “Leading in a way that Glorifies God” which is just what Jesus did here on earth. Spiritual leadership is the leadership that affects a man’s family’s future and eternity. A man’s Spiritual Leadership demonstrates Christ to his family and his friends.
How Do I Become a Spiritual Leader?
How do we become the Spiritual Leaders of our families? By showing them Jesus in everything we do. As men, we need to examine our personal relationship with Jesus. Is it helping us to grow, to be better husbands, fathers and friends?
Becoming a Spiritual Leader begins with being a Disciple of Jesus, learning from the Master. While we all desire for change in our lives to be instantaneous, we know that lasting change takes time. Allowing Jesus to change us is a journey, it happens step by step as we walk with Him. Part of our purpose is to strengthen Men and example that journey as we walk and grow with them.
How do we do that? We need to read, meditate on, and obey scripture. We need to Pray! Become a disciple of Jesus, be transformed.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2 NIV
Can we change? Can our lives have a significant impact on the world? Jesus surrounded himself with twelve regular men, it changed their lives and together they changed the world.
Join us as we change the world, one man at a time!
